Home Counties have many years’ experience in transforming old, tired pools and giving them a new lease of life. Whether that’s from a new plant room and equipment upgrade, replacing copings and the pool surround or replacing the pool liner. We also carry out repairs to pumps, Filters, Pipework and Heaters (Gas & Oil). We pride ourselves on our attention to detail and providing our customers with a reliable and efficient service in the most cost-effective way to achieve their desired result.
There are many factors that contribute to a liner’s longevity including how warm you run your pool and how well the chemistry of the water has been balanced but on average, the life of a vinyl liner is on average 10 – 12 years. Signs the liner needs replacing include discolouration or fading, wrinkles, bulges and tears. Contact us to arrange a no obligation site visit with our Managing Director, Mark Winter to discuss your requirements.
On average, a swimming pool loses ¼ inch of water daily due to evaporation. If you’re unsure if the water loss in your pool is caused by a leak or evaporation, you can conduct a bucket test which is an easy and reliable test.
Simply secure a bucket to the pool ladder or place on the steps of the pool and weigh it down with a few rocks. Fill the bucket with water to the same level as the pool water and using tape, mark the level inside the bucket and then the level of pool water on the outside of the bucket.
Leave the system off and after 24 hours, check both levels. If the level of pool water has dropped more than inside the bucket, then it’s likely you have a leak and time to call in the professionals. Using various techniques and specialist equipment, our engineers can detect the location of the leak and carry out the necessary repairs.
The team refurbished our pool this autumn and did a quick and efficient job replacing the liner and other components.
