T.D.S (Total Dissolved Solids)
T.D.S is the measure of all soluble substances dissolved in the water. The level of T.D.S is influenced by many things, including chemicals that are added to the water to adjust chemical levels, dust and dirt.
Over time, the water becomes ‘saturated’ and begins to lose its ability to dissolve solids. As T.D.S is a naturally occurring reaction in all bodies of water, there are no treatments to keep T.D.S down. The only way to lower T.D.S is by diluting the water. This can be done by draining off some of the water and topping it up or emptying the Pool and refilling it. Draining a Pool can cause collapse of walls or displacement of the Liner so always speak to the original constructors or your local Pool suppliers for advice before doing so.
